In June 2011, 14 students and 3 chaperones from Minneapolis Minnesota embarked on a 16 day tour of Italy to study the culture, history, architecture and art of this amazing country. Their goals were to learn as much as possible, eat like royalty, gaze upon scenic vistas, make art and take photographs, and resist the urge to become ugly American tourists.

This blog began as an attempt on the part of the group leader to create a meaningful log of essential content for enhancing that trip. Years later, that trip is long over, but the conversation continues. Despite years of neglect, this blog has become a valued site for interesting articles on Italian Art and History, followed and read by hundreds of people every day.
